Personal Statement

I'm a friendly and welcoming student currently studying English Literature at the University of Glasgow, and seeking part time employment during my studies. I have experience in several different customer service environments, including retail. I am a responsible and motivated person, who has a thirst for knowledge and adapts well to different situations. I have also previously held a job while completing a degree, and therefore I am confident that I can successfully manage my work commitments, studies and personal projects.

Many of my personal projects involve the creation and maintaining of websites, many serving as social communities. Through these I have further developed skills acquired during previous work experience, such as communication skills, providing support for visitors and overseeing a team of staff members. One of these projects, an online community for writers, is celebrating it's tenth year this summer. I consider myself to be an organised, experienced, and polite addition to any team. I'm able to think outside the box, and able to provide customers with the help they need in an enthusiastic and polite manner.

Availability

Preferably I am seeking a permanent position of 8-16 hours per week, although temporary positions are also of interest to me. I am available throughout the summer except for the dates below. In September I will be starting classes for my third year of University but would like to continue working during term time if possible. I am also available daily for tutoring, proof reading, writing and other online assignments.
